Feed Venezuela: Chocolate and Art

In the rush of the holiday season it can be easy to get caught up in the commercialization of the winter. However, the holidays are also the best part of the year to spend time with family, express gratitude, and look for ways to serve. For the past couple years, artist James Rees and wife Maribel have used the holiday season as a time to gather food and donations for Table to Table, a cause they care about– fighting food shortages in Venezuela.

This year’s Table to Table event will be an art auction and chocolate tasting provided by Amano Artisan Chocolate’s Head Chocolate Maker, Art Pollard. At the Here Gallery on Provo Center Street from 6-9 pm on Friday, December 1st, the auction will feature art by local artists including a number of limited edition chocolate-themed prints by James Rees and Jesse Petersen. Tickets to the tasting are $20 each; all proceeds will be used to buy food for Venezuelan families in need.
