As an artist I love how my art can serve as an instrument to explore new ideas that I’m interested in learning about. During the past few months I’ve been meditating, doing yoga and thinking about energy and chakras. In this “Other Series” page I explore these ideas about energy, passion and spirituality. The imagery comes from things I live with and things that are around me.

This monotype print is from a series that came from my time in Japan. During this time I was exposed to the tea ceremony and became interested in connecting ritual to a larger, cosmic context.
Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities. They are made by drawing on a smooth surface with printer's ink then pressing the ink onto a sheet of absorbent paper through a press or by hand.
